We deliver meals from Monday – Friday to the elderly and housebound within the Parish boundaries. If you know of any neighbour, friend or relative who perhaps would benefit from this service, then please contact the Church office on 01592 204635.<\/span><\/p>\n

People who receive meals at home are asked to give details of contact\u00a0 people, e.g. family members, neighbours, etc. and if there are any occasions when delivery volunteers cannot get an answer, the outreach co-ordinator will firstly phone the house and then contact someone on the list provided.\u00a0\u00a0 This ensures that if, for any reason, someone cannot reach the door to answer it, someone will be alerted to help.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the 1980s the caf\u00e9 and outreach meals service was set up as part of a Government Training scheme where young people were given work experience in catering and hospitality. When the Training scheme funding was withdrawn the church made the decision to continue the caf\u00e9 and outreach meals as it was recognised that this was an important service to our community in Pathhead.<\/span><\/div>\n

Lunches are served in the Caf\u00e9 daily between 12 noon and 2 pm from Tuesday – Friday and outreach meals are delivered to the housebound from Monday<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2013 Friday within the community.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

Both of these services has proved to be an important way of building relationships and caring for both those who visit the caf\u00e9 on a regular basis and those who are housebound either short or long term. A genuine concern for the well-being of the customers has built up over the past number of years and it is obvious that both recipients of meals and those involved in serving enjoy a high level of satisfaction<\/span><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
