{"id":53,"date":"2014-02-01T18:56:58","date_gmt":"2014-02-01T18:56:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pathheadparishchurch.co.uk\/?page_id=53"},"modified":"2023-07-17T21:10:53","modified_gmt":"2023-07-17T20:10:53","slug":"funerals","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/pathheadparishchurch.co.uk\/?page_id=53","title":{"rendered":"Funerals"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Help in your bereavement<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-188 alignleft\" style=\"line-height: 1.5em; margin-left: 18px; margin-right: 18px;\" src=\"https:\/\/pathheadparishchurch.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0417-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_0417\" width=\"203\" height=\"270\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pathheadparishchurch.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0417-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/pathheadparishchurch.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_0417-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 203px) 100vw, 203px\" \/><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Bereavement is one of the hardest things that anyone can face. \u00a0The loss of a loved one can be a devastating event, even for people of faith. \u00a0At a time of bereavement, we are contronted by the big questions of life&#8230; Is there a life after this life? \u00a0Will I see a loved-one again? \u00a0What happens after we die? \u00a0Jesus said, &#8220;Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.&#8221; \u00a0Those seem strange words but they point to a God who draws near to us when we face the depth of sorrow. \u00a0The comfort is that death does not have ultimate victory<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">. \u00a0Jesus died on a cross but he rose again three days later. \u00a0For Christians, death is the passageway to a\u00a0<\/span>richer and fuller life with God. \u00a0There is no short-cut through the process of grieving but we can emerge from our grief with a faith which has been tested in the fire of our sorrow.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A parish minister is available for member and parishioners who have been bereaved. \u00a0Often an undertaker will contact a minister on behalf of a family but the family can contact the minister directly. \u00a0The minister will then arrange a visit to discuss the funeral arrangements. \u00a0If a funeral takes place in the Church there are fees for the organist, the church officer and the heating and lighting of the building.
